Chessbase

Finally got around to ordering CB9 last night, Sancho convinced me to part with the cash. I can't wait until it gets here. Since I already have Fritz 7 I decided to hold off on getting a newer version for now. I also ordered a half-sized plastic set for my gf's cousin. The last set we bought him was one of those horrible glass sets you get from KBs at twice the price. Hey, it looked nice on the box. Anyway, he's getting a lot better since he started playing with the chess club at his grade school so I thought I'd get him a more serious set. Finally someone to play with! I can't wait until he's old enough to analyze games with me. Hopefully he'll still be interested.

I'm still playing at least two games a night. Rating fluctuates a lot, especially since I experiment with different ideas, but I feel like I'm learning a lot and slowly improving. Hope everyone else is having fun.

I love CB9! I got it for free :) Ok, so it didn't come with a free year's play at Playchess. But who cares :)

You're gonna enjoy this little piece of software.

By the way, i also have a Fritz 7 version still. Also for free :)
And sure i want 9. But in order to be able to run it, a GeForce 5 video card is needed. This computer runs a G4.

Have you visited www.chesskids.com its just right for young players learning and a parent or uncle who is teaching a young player. the nine lessons break things down very well and its interesting! Also there is games that will be attractive to kids and they'll come back and play them as well as learn more about chess. Give a try! But warning you stay away from the games you may forget why your there! Also don't log in as an adult, you may find a surprise! Let us here what you think about this site. Mahalo, Paco

Hey Paco. Thanks for telling me about that site. The pawn races were quite challenging and I didn't win every time. That site may be good for my chess development too!

PS

Sure i know PS aka the Chess Wanderer. I'm a Knight Errant myself now :)
And hell yeah i know chesskids. It's an awesome site. Even if it was intended for youngsters. What can i say about chess.ac? I can tell you that i'm playing there again. But please do not spread the news. I want to keep it quit. Eric had me banned for a very long time, making sure i was not able to defend myself against all of the lies he spread about me on the forum. But i really couldn't care less that he had me banned. I was fine with it because i really didn't want to have anything to do with him or chess.ac again. Untill recently, when i came across a link on the web that led me to chess.ac's forum to find out i wasn't banned anymore cause i had acces. I guess it had something to do with their new upgrade. He'll probably ban me again as soon as he finds out. Anyway, i'm only playing. You'll never see me on the forum again or post any kind of comment at all. Strictly play. I go by a name he actually made up for me, which i tend to like. It's "psychomoderator" :)
Anyway, i finally got to read all of the lies he spread about me. But ofcourse, you're free to believe who you choose to believe. My opinion is that eric hicks is a big f**king snake. And he'll strike when you least expect it. You won't believe some of the emails he sent me after he had me banned. Please, he makes himself look like something he is not. He really doesn't give a sh*t about the players. So don't think he's doing anything he's doing to please you or anybody else... He's got his own agenda. Anyway, it was never my intention to come back to play at chess.ac, it was pure coincidence. And ofcourse the fact that the site offers very good chess playing capabilities, which can't be denied. If it wasn't for that i would have never signed up again. And thank's for the Thanksgiving blessing. You always was a good guy. Also, if you happen to stop by again, have a look at my own chess blog. See you around my friend :)

And PS,

Sorry for the many removals. I modified this post a couple of times.
