Team DeLaMaza is looking for a few good men (and woman of course)

We just finished the tournament 26 on FICS last night and our U1600 team is the new champions. We will be starting up U1800 and U2000 teams for tournament 27 and I hope some of the Knights could join up. I have already recruited KnightWiz for our U1600 team (which I will be captaining). Here are the dates:

June 7 - Deadline for team lineups
June 14 - First round of T26 begins

You need a free FICS account and 20 slow (15 minutes or slower) rated games to register with Team 45 45. Here are a few links for further instructions.

Please post a reply even if you aren't interested so I know who read this. Thanks all!

UPDATE
Due to the overwhelming response we received, team DeLaMaza may be putting together an U1400 team now! If so, I will be captaining that team as well. So, especially if you have a low rating, please consider signing up!

I'm interested in being on both the U2000 and U1800 teams, Pawn Sensei. Please count me in!

I have 3 OTB tournaments ahead and I don't really like to play at internet.

I would like to join, but I would check first the timezone differences. It may be that this falls to morning here. In that case, I can't join cause of work.

Nez,

You can't check it. We have people who play from all over the world. One of my team members is from Russia and his time zone is about a day ahead. The games are scheduled between Tuesday and Monday and you have to agree on a time with your opponent. I usually schedule games on Weekends but if my opp can't make it I have scheduled games for right after work. Check out the FAQ for more info.

I hoped someone would propose this. I would definitely like to join your team. I have plenty of time this summer so if you have any room left I could play in U2000 or U1800 team. Or even both.

Bahus,

We should have room on both U2000 and U1800. One of them might be a substitute position though. I'll get back to you on that. Your handle is Bahus right?

Blue Devil,

Actually, playing in tournaments is one of the best ways to get better. You get a guaranteed 45 45 slow game. On FICS, if you haven't noticed, it can be difficult to find people willing to play slow time controls. That's why I joined T45 45 in the first place. You should seriously consider joining up. I'd be glad to have you on my team. If we have more than 4 people we will be rotating the playing schedule anyway so you won't have to play every single week.

Scitcat,

Cool. Which sections are you interested in?

I have definitely noticed it is hard to get long games. For me, 20 10 is about the longest I can find at my rating.

I think I should hold off on dragging the team down until I have gained a little more experience and confidence :) Thanks for the offer, though, very thoughtful of you!

I talked the captain of the u1800? last night (Mr. Lavri) and he signed me up. I recieved his e-mail notification today, but I cant seem to reply. The system informs me that it cannot contact the server. I dont know why this is.

anyway, we are gonna be teamates now with knightwizzy. Hope we win. =>

PS,
I'd love to join but June is not going to be a good month for me and I don't think I'd be able to make the committment. But this fall is another matter....

Either is fine but not both.

Nez,

Cool! I look forward to using our tactics training to kick some bootay this tourney.

CD,

Best way is to message him on FICS. Do you know how to do that?

PMD,

Sounds good. You can see how this tourney goes too.

Scitcat,

We have three sections. U2000, U1800, and U1600.

CD,

BTW, RomaLavrn already knows you are interested in U2000 and U1800 and has put you on both of those teams. U2000 now has 5 players and U1800 has 5 as well. I'll be on the U1800 team with you as an alternate. As it stands now you will be either 3rd or 4th board.

Thanks, Pawn Sensei. Both Bahus and RomaLavrn reached me yesterday by e-mail, and I briefly chatted with RomaLavrn last night on FICS. I'll be an alternate on the U2000 team, but hopefully will be strong enough for 3rd or 4th boards eventually!
