Crafty IS a wonderful tool. I punched this game in, and I had noticed the move that you had played, 23. ... Nf3. The problem was that Nd3 was begging to be played before 23. Qa1. There were other errors that Crafty claimed, but this was the biggest score jump that Crafty found.

If you don't have Scid and Crafty yet, get them. I highly recommend it.

Thanks Paul. I have Crafty with Winboard but never heard of Scid.

One thing that struck me, PS, as I went through this game is that it appeared that you were playing moves in the hope that your opp would mess up. Check out the Novice Nook articles by Dan Heisman at ChessCafe.com, especially any that deal with what he calls "Real Chess." I think this would help you a lot with your game. It's done wonders for me.

Other than that, one thing I noted was that you appeared to eager to exchange away your minor pieces. You shouldn't exchange unless it benefits you or you have to in order to keep the material balance.
