Hi, nice to see there are people actualy trying Michael de la Maza's method! :)
Well, I was searching for his system on the net and got to your blog, and as I see you've been doing this for quiete a while, I'd like to ask if you can recommend me a set of tactics problems to start the "7 Circles" program.
I've also found the blog ideia great, as an easy way to keep track of progress.. I'll start blogging as soon as I start the program.

Hey Knightwiz. Great to hear you are interested in joining our merry group. Please feel free to start blogging even before starting the program so you can get onboard and get comments from our fellow knights. Also, please see Don our fearless leader to sign up. You can either shoot him an email or post a reply to his blog.

As for a recommendation for tactics to start the program, what is your current playing strength? How long have you been playing chess? Do you prefer books or software or both?

Personally I like using both software and books at the same time. For software I have CT Art and Chess Mentor is in the mail. For books I have Winning Chess Tactics, 1001 Winning Chess Sacrifices and Combinations, and Polgar's tactics book. From what I understand this should be all the tactics I will need for a long long time.

So anyway, long story short. Get your blog rolling and contact Don as soon as you can. You'll be surprised how many Knights will jump in on the questions on your blog.

Hi Knightwiz,

I just started with the concentric circles yesterday: come on in, the water's fine!

As for tactics, I am nourishing a growing list of software to help people decide what will best suit their needs/skill levels during the Seven Circles portion of chess torture. :O

Pawn Sensei: I'm not sure about my playing strength.. I've played some games on Yahoo! Games and got a rating around 1250 there. As for how long I've been playing, well.. I learned the game when I was very young, but haven't played since then. I've re-started this month, and I'm still looking for ways to improve. I'm new to software training, so I'll have to try it a bit to see how it fits for me.
Thanks for your suggestions, and I'd be glad to join your knights group. :)

Blue Devil Knight: I'll be starting my training soon, gonna take a look at your tactics list.
