It was Michael Tal's tradition to lose the very first game of every tournament. Did you know that?
Im sure you will bounce back the next time.

I play on Saturday, so I'll let you know. It's taken all week for my brain to come back from the tactical circles program, and I'm not sure I've worked out my thought process/time management issues yet. We shall see!

Nez,

I read about that somewhere. I guess he needs the motivation to bring out his creativity. Thanks for the encouragement.

CD,

I'm sure you'll knock em dead. BTW, have you seen Knightwiz or Harmless? They both haven't showed up for Round 1 yet.

PS

I messed up on the sched. I thought we were to play 6:00pm and then all along it was supposed to be 6:0am. Arrg. Will he claim a default win now? Well, its up to CD and lliamah to win for us then I guess.

Oops! Heheh. Yeah, I remember my first round in T45 45. I was all nervous I would get the time wrong too. He is allowed to claim a win on a no show if there is no contact 30 minutes past agreed game time. At least you made a good faith effort though. Knightwiz and Harmless haven't even contacted their opponents yet and they haven't responded to my emails over the past week.

Pawn Sensei, I haven't heard from them. I did score us a win, although I faltered towards the end and almost dropped the point. Fortunately, I've been working on my endgame and used a breakthrough tactic to score the point.

Pawn Sensei, I e-mailed you today. I don't know how to get onto the ICQ group, but I should be available for all rounds. When my son is born, I may have to skip that week, but for now it's safe to assume I can make it.
