The sooner it is aggressively treated, the better the prospects. They will have to remove the tumor, follow it up with radiation treatment, and then it is important to have regular checkups, as it is known to recur even decades later. I think it doesn't respond to present chemotherapy treatments, though there are some clinical trials for that which would probably be available, if the patient's oncologist thought it was a good idea.
