Passing 1500

An ugly game but a win nonetheless. A little behind schedule to hit 1600 by October so I'm adjusting to October 31. The books are slow reading. The main reason is I actually need a board to read them. I've tried using just the books but it's too hard to follow without a board. That and I barely have time to play one game a day. I'll keep trucking though and see where it takes me.

On a different note, here is a game I played yesterday that had a famous endgame position. Good thing I read those Heisman articles. I'm playing White.

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 g6 5. Bc4 Bg7 6. Be3 e6 7. O-O Nge7 8. Nc3 a6 9. Qd2 Ne5 10. Bb3 Ng4 11. Bg5 f6 12. f3 fxg5 13. fxg4 Qb6 14. Rad1 Nc6 15. Ne2 h6 16. Hi David,

I'm very shaky on the October deadline but it is to be expected. I am still helping out my Dad but try to get some practice and play every week. Thanks for the note!

Maybe you've already discovered this, but I found something that really helps me when I'm reading and want to make the chess moves:

I use a small magnetic traveling set. You can set it on the opposite page from the one you're reading and make the moves while you read - even in bed.
